The Princess of Wales Joins Military Drills with the Queen's Dragoon Guards

The Princess of Wales, Kate, made her first visit to the 1st Queen's Dragoon Guards since being appointed Colonel-in-Chief of the regiment. Arriving at Robertson Barracks in Norfolk, she met with troops, observed military drills, and delivered medals to long-serving officers. Kate looked chic in a black blazer over a black polo neck and trousers, with her brunette locks neatly styled.

During her visit, Kate swapped her sleek outfit for a camouflage jacket, vest, and helmet to participate in the military exercises. She had the chance to drive an armoured vehicle and engage in activities alongside the regiment. The visit also involved interacting with families of the Queen's Dragoon Guards who reside in the village of Swanton Morley.

The Queen's Dragoon Guards specialize in reconnaissance and have been deployed worldwide. Most recently, they were involved in a peacekeeping operation in Mali. As part of her visit, Kate received a comprehensive briefing on the regiment's operations and was introduced to various aspects, such as the Jackal 2 high mobility weapons platform and reconnaissance drones.

In addition to her participation in military activities, the Princess presented Long Service & Good Conduct medals to several servicemen and women. With Remembrance Sunday approaching, she also took a moment to remember the fallen soldiers from the regiment.

During her visit, Kate exemplified her commitment to military support and engagement. This outing showcased her active involvement with the Queen's Dragoon Guards and her dedication to understanding the lives of servicemen and women.
