The Football Association (FA) has announced that they will involve the police if professional players use the phrase “from the river to the sea” in relation to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Gaza. The decision comes in response to a now-deleted social media post by Leicester City’s Hamza Choudhury on X (formerly known as Twitter). Choudhury will not face any further disciplinary action, but the FA will be issuing a statement to all clubs to advise against the use of this phrase. The FA spokesperson also mentioned seeking police guidance on how to handle any future instances.
