Bonza Cabin Crew Injured in Mid-Air Turbulence

Several Bonza cabin crew members sustained injuries when their flight, operating as AB 626 from Rockhampton to the Sunshine Coast, encountered unanticipated and severe turbulence. The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon, but the aircraft landed safely at its intended destination without further mishap. According to Bonza CEO Tim Jordan, no passengers reported any injuries, and the injured cabin crew members are currently being evaluated by medical professionals. The extent of their injuries and whether hospital treatment is required remains undisclosed at this time. The Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Bonza for additional information. As a result of the incident, the aircraft involved has been taken out of service and is undergoing inspections at Bonza's base on the Sunshine Coast. Unfortunately, a subsequent flight to Mildura on the NSW/Victoria border had to be canceled due to the unforeseen circumstances. Bonza has expressed regret for any inconvenience caused and is offering full refunds to affected passengers. Bonza, Australia's newest low-cost airline, commenced operations in January of this year but has already faced route reductions due to low demand. Its discontinued routes include Sunshine Coast to Coffs Harbour, Sunshine Coast to Port Macquarie, Sunshine Coast to Tamworth, Cairns to Mackay, and Toowoomba to the Whitsunday Coast. Despite this, Bonza recently inaugurated a new Gold Coast-Launceston route, operating three days a week with one-way fares starting at $79. The airline continues to prioritize the safety of both its staff and customers, providing support to the injured cabin crew as necessary.
