Teen Mom star, Jenelle Evans, is facing a difficult situation as her husband, David Eason, has been charged with child abuse in connection with her 14-year-old son, Jace. This comes after Jace ran away from home three times within a span of six weeks. The charges against Eason are reported to be a misdemeanor according to court documents obtained by TMZ.
Jace, who is Evans' child from a previous relationship with Andrew Lewis, has been living with his maternal grandmother, Barbara Evans, since his attempts to run away. The investigation was triggered after Jace went missing for the third time, prompting authorities to open a probe into the matter.
In a TikTok video posted by Jenelle, she expressed frustration with the situation and claimed to be facing harassment on social media. She also stood by the side of Eason, implying that her mother, Barbara, was behind the child abuse probe and subsequent charge.
The couple was seen attending the Wilmington Gun & Knife Show in Wilmington, North Carolina, on October 15th, just days before the charges were filed against Eason. Reports suggest that criminal charges were likely to be filed against them in connection with an assault and neglect investigation by social workers.
Law enforcement officials have been investigating allegations that Eason physically assaulted Jace on September 28th. Jace was reportedly taken to the hospital the next day, where doctors found marks on his arms and neck. It appears that the investigation is expanding to include the couple's other children, as Jace has claimed that he is not the only one who has been harmed.
The ongoing probe has caused disruptions in the family's life, with Jace's custody being a subject of concern. He had previously been residing with his mother, but custody was transferred to his grandmother earlier this year. Additional hearings are scheduled to determine the best living arrangement for Jace.
As the investigation continues, both Evans and Eason could face charges of neglect and assault. Child Protective Services (CPS) investigators have been ordered to speak with Jenelle's other children, Kaiser and Ensley, away from the presence of their parents. The well-being of all the children involved remains a top priority as authorities work towards resolving this troubling situation.
