One person was killed and more than 20 others were injured in a devastating blast that occurred at a convention centre belonging to a Christian group in Kalamassery, Ernakulam in Kerala. The incident happened during a prayer meeting of Jehovah's Witnesses on Sunday morning. The cause of the explosion is currently under investigation, with top police officials and the Kerala Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) present at the site.

Authorities received a call about the blast at around 9 am, and soon after, fire rescue and police personnel swiftly arrived to evacuate people from the scene. The visuals shown on TV channels displayed the considerable presence of emergency responders as they worked to ensure the safety of the attendees.
