Civil Servant Accuses Dominic Cummings of Misogynistic Language in Explosive WhatsApp Messages

A former civil servant has accused ex-aide to the Prime Minister, Dominic Cummings, of using violent and misogynistic language towards her in a series of WhatsApp messages. Helen MacNamara, the former deputy Cabinet Secretary, gave evidence to the Covid inquiry, painting a grim picture of a "macho" culture in Downing Street during the early stages of the pandemic. In one message, Cummings referred to her as a "c***" and threatened to personally escort her out of the building. MacNamara expressed her disappointment that Boris Johnson did not intervene or address the toxic culture. Cummings denied being misogynistic, stating that he was equally rude towards male staff and ministers. MacNamara also raised concerns about the lack of women being heard in meetings during the pandemic.
