Britney Spears' Ex-Husband Denies Claims They Married Due to Alcohol and Boredom
Jason Alexander Refutes Britney's Claims

Jason Alexander, the ex-husband of Britney Spears, has strongly disagreed with her recent claims that their marriage was a result of her being 'very drunk' and 'bored with her life'. Alexander insists that they were 'very much in love' when they tied the knot in Las Vegas in 2004 and that alcohol was not involved.

Spears recounted the Vegas incident in her new memoir, The Woman In Me, where she admitted to being drunk on a New Year's trip with her friend Paris Hilton. However, Alexander, along with the officiant of their wedding, explained that they were not drinking when they decided to get married.

In response to Spears' memoir, Alexander expressed his love and care for her but stated that he would only accept a signed copy of the book to sell it to the highest bidder. Their marriage, which only lasted 55 hours, was annulled three days after the wedding.

Spears described her family's reaction to the Vegas wedding as an overreaction, considering it innocent fun. She expressed her belief that a goof-around Vegas wedding was something people might do as a joke. However, her family's disapproval and strict control over her finances made her increasingly emotional during her Las Vegas visit.

Following her Vegas wedding, Spears faced a lengthy conservatorship that lasted for 14 years until it was terminated by court order in 2021. In 2022, Alexander attempted to crash her wedding to Sam Asghari, livestreaming his actions on Instagram and resulting in convictions for battery and aggravated trespassing.

More recently, Alexander was reportedly arrested in Tennessee for alleged stalking behavior towards a woman he repeatedly followed at a gym. The woman had requested that he leave her alone, but his attempts to get close to her persisted through text messages and repeated phone calls.

The ongoing revelations surrounding the short-lived marriage between Spears and Alexander offer new insights into the pop star's personal life, the control exerted by her family, and the challenges she has faced throughout her career and personal journey.
