Kennedy Jr., following an unsettling incident at their Los Angeles home. Speaking in an interview with TMZ, Hines expressed disappointment that President Biden's administration denied Kennedy's requests for a security detail.

The incident occurred when an intruder attempted to break into Hines' residence twice in one day. Although the intruder was apprehended, the incident has left the couple feeling vulnerable and concerned for their safety. Kennedy, who was previously a presidential candidate in the Democratic primary against Biden, had earlier requested security details from the Department of Homeland Security, but these requests were denied.

Under the Secret Service's authorization, major presidential and vice-presidential candidates, as well as their spouses, are eligible for protection within 120 days of a general election. The decision on who falls under this "major" category is determined by the Homeland Security secretary and a House and Senate advisory committee. Kennedy, who withdrew from the Democratic primary and entered the race as an Independent, was unfortunately not offered this protection.

This is not the first alarming incident involving Kennedy's safety. In September, an armed man impersonating a U.S. marshal was arrested at one of Kennedy's campaign events in Los Angeles. Hines criticized the Biden administration for turning down both of Kennedy's security requests, emphasizing the need for action and expressing her disappointment with the situation.
